Rising Life

The artist

Native Houstonian Katherine Price is an accomplished artist and educator whose passion for creativity has been at the heart of her life for more than two decades. After 26 years of teaching, Katherine continues to inspire young artists in the classroom while pursuing her own creative journey as a professional artist. In January 2016, Katherine began painting as a creative outlet alongside her full-time teaching career. What began as a small collection of paintings shared on Instagram quickly blossomed into Katherine Price Art, a growing business built on her love of color, creativity, and connection with others. Over the years, Katherine’s original acrylic paintings have found homes across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Norway, and beyond. Her work is inspired by the places and experiences that bring her the most joy, with the ocean and life on the water serving as an especially meaningful source of inspiration. Through vibrant color, movement, and a sense of light and freedom, her paintings are designed to evoke the same feeling of happiness and peace that she finds beside the water. A devoted Mother, Katherine considers her son her greatest inspiration. She hopes to lead by example, encouraging him- and others- to believe that with passion, perseverance, and determination, you truly can create a life around the things you love. Today, Katherine continues to balance her two greatest creative passions: teaching and painting. After 26 years in education, she remains committed to inspiring the next generation of artists while continuing to grow Katherine Price Art shares her work with collectors near and far. Katherine currently resides in Houston, Texas. Her work can be found on Instagram @katherinepriceart
